Welcome to Melbourne, Florida!

Established in 2004, the Brevard Center is located in the “high-tech center of the Southeast.” Local technical companies include: Harris Corporation, Northrop Grumman Melbourne Systems, Intersil Corporation, and Rockwell Collins, Inc. Other large employers include Brevard Community College, Wuesthoff Health System, Florida Today Newspaper, and Holmes Regional Medical Center.

Melbourne is home to approximately 77,000 residents, has an average temperature of 72 degrees, and is just 10 minutes from miles of beautiful beaches. Cape Canaveral (including Kennedy Space Center and the Port) and Orlando (including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Wet-n-Wild and Sea World) are just an hour or less drive away.

There are many grocery stores, banks, and restaurants within walking distance. In addition, the Brevard Community College Melbourne campus is located directly across the street from the Brevard Center, so it is a short walk for students taking college and vocational classes.

Residential Support Services

Student Apartments
The Brevard Center offers nicely furnished apartments and houses located adjacent to the Brevard Community College and within walking distance of grocery stores, Regions Bank, Books-A-Million, Starbucks and many restaurants. Each student has his or her own bedroom and shares the living room, kitchen, and washer and dryer with 1-3 roommates.

Brevard Center apartment courtyard

The Brevard Center apartments have a central courtyard that provides the perfect place for students to socialize in the evenings and on weekends. Residential staff members provide instruction in meal planning and food preparation, cleaning, laundry, and executive functioning.

Social Life
Social life at CIP is an important component of the residential program. You are afforded the opportunity to develop lasting friendships and social networks.

Students love "Gould Spa"

The diverse student population comes from all across America as well as several foreign countries. The CIP community strives to foster a supportive environment in which all individuals are affirmed, and differences are valued.

An elected Student Government plans and organizes student social activities, and fosters leadership.

A foreign trip is planned during the student break in March each year. Students study the itinerary, history, language and culture prior to leaving.
